All UKGC-licensed operators contribute a percentage of their gross gambling yield (GGY) annually. The headline rate is 1.1% of GGY for online operators. Of total receipts, 50% goes to NHS-led treatment, 30% to prevention and education, and 20% to UKRI-commissioned research. The levy replaced the previous voluntary funding system run via GambleAware.
