GGY

Also: Gross Gambling Yield

The amount staked by customers minus the amount paid back as winnings — used as the base for tax, levy and licence-fee calculations.

In detail

GGY equals total stakes received less total winnings paid out. It excludes bonuses, free bets and other promotional credits issued by the operator. UKGC licence fees, the statutory RET levy (1.1% for online) and HMRC's remote gaming duty (currently 21% of GGY for online casino) all use GGY as the base.
