The £5 cap for over-25s came into force on 9 April 2025; the lower £2 cap for 18-24-year-olds followed on 21 May 2025. The rule applies only to remote slot games and only to UKGC-licensed operators. Live casino, table games, sports betting and bingo are not covered. Operators apply the £2 cap automatically until a player turns 25.
