KYC threshold

The deposit or activity level at which a UKGC operator must trigger enhanced identity, source-of-funds or affordability checks.

In detail

UKGC rules do not set a single statutory KYC threshold beyond verifying identity before first deposit. In practice operators apply tiered thresholds: standard verification at sign-up, source-of-funds requests at cumulative deposits of around £2,000 (or £1,000 in 24 hours), and enhanced due diligence at significantly higher levels. Affordability thresholds are being piloted at £150 (frictionless) and £500 (enhanced) net loss in 30 days.
