AML

Also: Anti-Money Laundering

The legal framework requiring gambling operators to detect, prevent and report money laundering and terrorist financing.

In detail

AML rules for UK gambling operators flow from the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and supplementary UKGC guidance. Operators must run a documented risk assessment, apply customer due diligence proportionate to risk, monitor transactions on an ongoing basis, and submit Suspicious Activity Reports to the National Crime Agency where warranted.
