Enhanced due diligence

Also: EDD

A heightened set of AML and risk checks applied to higher-risk customers, including politically exposed persons and high-rollers.

In detail

EDD goes beyond standard customer due diligence and typically combines source-of-funds documentation, source-of-wealth review, ongoing transaction monitoring at higher frequency, and senior management sign-off on the customer relationship. UKGC operators apply EDD to PEPs, customers from higher-risk jurisdictions, and accounts with large or unusual deposit patterns.
