Sticky vs non-sticky bonus

Also: parachute bonus

A sticky bonus cannot itself be withdrawn (only winnings from it can); a non-sticky bonus is treated as separate from your real-money balance and is forfeited only if you withdraw before clearing wagering.

In detail

With a sticky bonus, the bonus amount is permanently deducted from your balance on withdrawal — you can only ever cash out winnings above the bonus. With a non-sticky bonus, your deposit is treated as real money first; the bonus only activates if you lose the deposit. Non-sticky bonuses suit cautious players. Sticky bonuses can offer larger headline values but require commitment to clearing wagering.
