Self-exclusion

The umbrella term for tools that block a player from accessing one or more gambling accounts for a fixed period — ranging from operator-level to national (GAMSTOP) coverage.

In detail

UK operators offer two layers. Operator-level self-exclusion blocks the player at that single operator for a chosen period (typically 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or permanent). National self-exclusion via GAMSTOP blocks all UKGC sites simultaneously. Both are non-reversible early. Self-exclusion is distinct from time-out and cooling-off, which are shorter and lighter.
